Frazada Pillow 008
Frazadas are beautiful pieces of textiles handwoven by the local artisans of the central Andes, often found in Peru. They are woven with sheep's wool and colored with natural dyes to create thick and colorful pieces, each unique in color and design. Often taking up to a month to complete, they are quite labor intensive and time consuming to create.
Due to the time and effort required to create these exquisite textiles and the rise of the mining industry in Peru, artisans are going in search of better sources of income to provide for their families. This is causing the practice of weaving these textiles to decline. Frazadas and other traditional handmade products are becoming more and more scarce.
Each pillow is backed with a solid wool material, finished with an invisible zipper, and edged with a hand crocheted edging.
